It’s Not My Film (Polish: To nie mój film), the debut feature by Maria Zbąska, is a poignant “road” drama about love, disillusionment, and risky second chances.
When Wanda (Zofia Chabiera) and Janek (Marcin Sztabiński) decide their relationship is nearing its end, they propose a final experiment: a 400-kilometre hike along the icy Baltic coastline in winter.
They impose rules—no whining, no phones, just the two of them on the shore—and vow: if they endure the journey together, they stay together; if not, they part.
Set against a stark, frozen shoreline and interspersed with fights, revelations, and fleeting moments of intimacy, the film captures the strain, weariness, and hope of a relationship at breaking point.
The film won the SMART7 International Competition at Kinoteka 2025, and has been praised in festival circuits for its assured direction and emotional clarity.
