Ekran Polish Film Association
Ekran Polish Film Association is a Toronto based non-profit organization, established in 2009 by a group of individuals who are passionate about showcasing new media arts and films. Ekran Polish Film Association organizes film focused events all year long, with both a Polish and multicultural focus, such as private and public screenings, workshops and most importantly, the annual Ekran Toronto Polish Film Festival.
To be Canada’s leading voice for Polish cinema and cultural storytelling, bridging communities and generations through film, dialogue, and shared experience.
- Annual week-long event dedicated to the promotion of cinematography and filmmaking while focusing on the Polish Canadian community and Canadian filmmakers with Polish roots and heritage.
- Hosted in the Revue cinema – the oldest cinema in Toronto – in the heart of the Roncesvalles Village.
- Welcoming prominent guests – filmmakers, actors and directors from Poland, Canada and all over the world.
- Screening around 40 films, including feature films, documentaries, short films and animations.
- Supported by the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Toronto, as well as Polish Filmmakers Association and Polish Film Institute.
- On average, the festival welcomes over 3,000 attendees from Toronto, Mississauga and surroundings.
- Our programming includes screenings, followed by Question & Answer sessions, evening receptions, lectures and People’s Choice & Best Film Awards.
