North South film (Północ–Południe) follows several intertwining stories of people separated by geography but united by longing.
From Poland’s industrial north to its sun-drenched southern fields, we meet characters whose lives are shaped by migration — physical, emotional, and spiritual. Some search for work abroad, others return home to emptiness; all confront the question of where they truly belong.
Director Łukasz Karwowski paints a tender and unflinching portrait of a country in transition. With evocative cinematography and a minimalist score, the film captures the rhythms of departure, waiting, and return.
It’s a story about borders — between nations, between people, and within ourselves — that speaks to anyone who has ever felt in-between.
