The 2017 Sundance Shorts are Announced and 3 Female Polish Filmmakers made the cut!

The 2017 Sundance Film Festival has announced its short film line up and out of sixty eight short films, three stem from Poland. What is also exciting to hear is that those three Polish films are all made by female filmmakers.

Among them is Heat by Agata Trzebuchowska and Mateusz Pacewicz.  This is Trzebuchowska’s screenwriting and directorial debut. She is best known as the leading actress Paweł Pawlikowski’s 2015 Academy Award Winning Ida.  

Other Polish films included is the short documentary Close Ties by Zofia Kowalewska and the animated Pussy by 25 year old Lodz Film School graduate Renata Gąsiorowska.
